Indians: The Worst Behaved at Hostels? 🇮🇳 Kudle Beach, Gokarna
This is debate, not fact - Are Indians the Worst Behaved Hostel Guests? I stayed a night at Zostel in Gokarna and after the constant noise and poor behaviour all night, I had to open up the topic for discussion. Come with me as I walk to Kudle Beach.

    Nice talk mate! Love watching Gabriel traveler also, been very close to him sometimes but still haven't been able to meet him either. Interesting how you said it is like a flip of a coin because it really is, even now we still find ourselves wondering how our future will be since your kind of leaving the normal system as you stated. For the most part I find we don't think about it too much but it does dawn on us every now and again and some worries can kick in. Cool what you said about the Beach too, we watched that film again a week before we decided to travel full time since the feeling captured in that film was also an inspiration

    Go any day of the week to Oxford Street in London, you have uneducated young people, drunk, cursing and pulling out knives like it's their smart phone. Cops not even bothering. Never , never in India is anyone carrying any knives or guns. San Francisco downtown, hookers coming up not bothering if you are with your parents, punks hustling etc etc. Zurich in a country with the least crime probably zero, university kids rampaging stadiums/ cities/ railway stations being shoved by the police into trains to go back home. not supporting what you say happened at your hostel, these are weekend local holidayers the concept of hostels is new to some Indians. the younger travelers go here only for the cheap stays for a night or two. you will not find this problem in hostels in any other major tourist destinations in India. travelling in off season in India is always off. no crowds no vibe no options! a vlog full of personal cribbing is of no value to anyone!

    As an Indian lad who loves to travel, I have to agree with you. Indians can be some of the most over-excited inconsiderate lousy people while travelling. You definitely should try and request them to pipe down, or look for some sort of management to complain to. Having fun at the expense of the others privacy is NOT cool. Hope you enjoy the rest of your travels in our beautiful chaotic country.

    Maybe not the most interesting topic, but would be interesting to know what vaccines you took before india, and what are you doing to protect yourself against stomach issues 🙂 cheers!

    • @TheWanderLife
      @TheWanderLife Месяц назад

      Believe it or not, I didn’t get any vaccines. I last got my shots in 2017 I believe. Back then, I did a course of Hepatitis (believe it was A and B), Tetanus and possibly Typhoid. I attempted to get the relevant boosters and what not a couple of years ago but I wasn’t able to at my GP practice in the UK and ultimately didn’t have the time nor enthusiasm to pay hundreds of pounds for them. As for preventing stomach issues, it can be hard coming direct from the UK or elsewhere because it’s not always ‘bad’ food or hygiene, it can be down to things like the different oils they use upsetting your stomach. That’s a little harder to avoid, but for me it’s been fine because I’ve been across various countries for a while before this trip. In terms of trying to avoid actual poisoning, my experience in the past has been that even going to busy, ‘proper’ places has its potential for a bad time. I got the most sick I’ve ever been from a place in Delhi a couple of years ago, and I know it was that place because I solely ate there for a few days thinking it was legit and would be good to settle in 🙈😂 My thing now is I’ve done the street food. Been there, got the T-shirt and so I really just try to stick to places that look like they have a solid turnover of customers, clean premises and if possible, I check reviews on google

    Interesting to draw a parallel between the behaviour of Indian youth and British youth while on holiday. I have experienced both they are equally loud and annoying but at least the Indians don't get violent .

    • @TheWanderLife
      @TheWanderLife Месяц назад

      I mean as with everything, there’s a spectrum right. So for instance, I have myself encountered violent drunk Indians (fighting amongst themselves) who in fact at one point brought out a knife. And of course I’ve seen British and other European aggression on nights out in other parts. So there’s a culture of behaviour, but it goes from one end to the other depending on the individual, which is why I say in the video that I don’t want to white wash across the board

    • @TheWanderLife
      @TheWanderLife Месяц назад

      Yea, I kind of feel bad for posing the question, because I know they’re not bad people and they’re absolutely not the only culprits…it’s as I tried to re-word it, are they the most over excited perhaps. I certainly think they love to indulge themselves and have fun, understandably so, but it was absolutely my experience that the fun often comes at the expense of maybe not being so considerate of the other people around. But I think that’s in line with much of the experience in India…there are so many people there that in many places they’re perhaps kind of used to the idea that they just have to worry about themselves and not everyone else around them…think for instance of trying to buy a train ticket and screaming inside when every bugger is pushing to the front of the queue 😂

    • @TravelFreek
      @TravelFreek Месяц назад

      @@TheWanderLife Rightly said, most of us tend to not think of others privacy, I saw the same in one of your other videos in a 1st class AC train where a guy distrubed you people without even asking permission. @TravelFreek Yea I experienced quite the battle with that when I was leaving India from Kolkata. Usually I bite my tongue but in that instance I lost my temper 😂

    That trash is because of no waste disposal system in the area. There are many cities in India with decent waste management supported by the government and they are relatively cleaner.

  • @joesuss4669
    @joesuss4669 Месяц назад

    Hey i wanted to say the trash problem in india is very simple as well as complex, it gets complicated only because of the goverment,i live in a area where we have a trash collecting system or a bin man like you would say,where we organize the trash and people would collect it, the area which has it is pretty clean, my area in general is very clean, and other areas also have it but they do not implement it, due to corruption or lack of funding, the thing is the local goverment has very less power and funding, thats why only a few area is clean compared to the rest, this is also the reason why india can land a space shuttle on the moon which is funded by the central goverment but can't stop littering problem, because central goverment can't do much about littering, because littering in general is a local/area problem which is handled by the local goverment which only only serves few area due to corruption and lack of funding. The second thing is peoples attitude towards trash, in india people take care of their home and thier own surrounding but anything else is not their problem, and when a place is allready littered its easy to pile on top of it. This is just a glimps of indian trash problem.

    Let me give you more context: The story is set in a village inhabited by tribal people similar to Amazon tribes but located in India. In the 18th century, a gentleman from the city visits these people and teaches them to speak English, but not to read or write. This spoken English is passed down through generations until today. Now, they seek an English teacher who can teach them to read and write. The story conveys a profound message about how selfish and greedy we have become in the name of civilization, while the tribes still uphold human values, remaining humble and grounded.

All the things you can sense are a consequence of the economic growth of the state :) It is kind of a hidden gem because most tourists go to the golden triangle (Delhi-Jaipur-Agra) or whatever. Delhi is probably the worst city to introduce anyone to India. It’s stressful even for Indians.

    There is one island in India where Dhivehi is spoken called Minicoy Island. There is an archipelago above Maldives called Lakshadweep which belongs to India. Nowadays even a city like Aizawl or Kohima has big brands like Dominos Pizza, Levi's and Baskin Robbins. These cities also have Japanese and Korean restaurants. Mizoram has very good music. I have a playlist of 25 Mizo musicians and 25 Mizo songs and Mizo top 75 songs. I listen to it in shuffle mode. I saw a Malayalam movie called Helen with Anna Ben. In that film she got stuck in cold storage in a fried chicken QSR joint in a mall in Muvattupuzha in Kerala. Muvattupuzha is a small town which is 50 kms from Kochi. Lulu Mall in Kochi is something else and even Kochi has world class metro train. I don't know why but foreign media feeds negative bs about India to foreigners and foreigners love watching negative bs about non Western countries. 9:53 the cake shop is Theobroma, the owner is a Zoroastrian lady. The most famous Zoroastrian in UK was Freddie Mercury.
